(Above) Richard Powell checks out probably the biggest salt cellar you will find,  beautifully crafted for the Salthouse09 exhibition which drew in over 50 original works on a salt and the sea theme.

A few of the artists exhibiting were on hand to explain their inspiration and chat about their pieces.  The show runs throughout July.

Supper after was in Cookies – a culinary experience par excellence……OK a restaurant on the side of the crab shop is a bit unusual, a few tables in the shop itself, others outside and undercover seating in a transparent gazebo….. and a very tasteful converted summer house – where the IoD sat of course.

The food was just marvellous and great value – if you fancy a fresh seafood platter, this is the place to go!
